Anthem expands services to allow for convenient access to medical information

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has expanded its LiveHealth Online services to include most people who have Anthem as their health insurance carrier.
The service allows people to access information from a doctor any time of day and any day of the year. It takes the idea of telehealth to a digital level that allows people to access medical professionals through the computer, tablet or smart phone device.
The LiveHealth Online service is available to anyone who wants to use it, but there is a fee for for people who do not have Anthem coverage.
Scott Golden, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield spokesperson, Scott Golden explains, "It allows Anthem members and general consumers to access a doctor 24 hours, 7 days a week. They can ask questions, get opinions, and in some cases prescribe medicine if the illness they have warrants it. This service is for when folks can't access their primary care physician. It might be after hours. You might be out of town or your primary care physician's office might be busy. You can log into LiveHelp Online and actually ask a credentialed doctor in the state where you are located questions."
